Online Safety Sessions for parents and carers at Tameside Central Library Session 2

Thursday 12th October 2017 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm

Location: Tameside Central Library

Being online is a part of everyday life, and is a valuable and important tool for children to use in learning and communication.

Children have access to computers through schools, libraries and at home, so it’s important that parents and carers understand the risks of being online, and how to protect the child against these risks.

TMBC are running a number of Online Safety talks and workshops in libraries across the borough from July to October. There are two separate one- hour sessions that parents, carers and youth workers can book onto. The first is an introduction to the dangers of being online, and offers practical advice about online safety, and the second workshop will provide practical help with updating devices with security settings.

A practical session with hands-on guidance for implementing parental guidance techniques.

Bring your own device (laptops, tablets, and mobiles)¬

Participants must have attended Session 1 in order to book onto Session 2.
