  • Groups Hyde Library Book Time for Yourself Club

    A Book Time for Yourself Club is a new type of book group run by Tameside Libraries with support from Tameside Older People's Partnership. Club members sit back and relax for an hour while books, short stories and poems are read to you then talk about what you have just listened to over tea & biscuits. There is no pressure, members can say as much or as little as they like and no literary knowledge or reading in advance is required.

  • Groups Marie Curie - Ashton Fundraising Support Group

    Ashton Fundraising Support Group meet monthly at the Broakoak Hotel, members help organise small local events such as Table Top Sales & Tea Parties. The Group also co-ordinate the Annual Daffodil Appeal, collecting at local Supermarkets & distributing boxes of Daffodils to local businesses.

  • Groups Miles of Smiles Car Scheme

    Volunteers use their own cars to transport passengers to health related appointments. Passengers must live in Tameside and be unable to access public transport due to illness or disability, and not be eligible for the ambulance service. As well as a car Miles of Smiles has a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Passengers must register before using the scheme and we ask for approximately a weeks notice prior to any appointments.

  • Groups Mossley Library Book Time for Yourself Club

    NWBBM is a charity being setup back in 2012 covering Greater Manchester that transports Blood, Plasma, Platelets, Samples, Vaccines, Donor Breast Milk (DBM) & any other urgently required medical items to hospitals - at night, daytime weekends* and bank holidays. This service is provided completely free of charge, allowing the NHS to divert funds where they are needed most. The charity is totally volunteer led, not one single member receives any gain or reward for their services. Blood Bikes Manchester currently provide these services using a purpose designed fleet of 5 motorcycles and 2 cars.

  • Groups Pennine Pen Animal Rescue

    We rescue, neuter and re-home unwanted and abandoned animals. We aim to help animals in need. Donations of disinfectant, dog, cat and rabbit food and items for the charity shops always needed.     We are a user-led organisation for adult with learning disabilities supporting adults to have a voice in their local community. We offer support in developing Friendships, Relationships & Sexuality, 1-1 Crisis Advocacy, Group Advocacy, run a Social Club Drop In, and other group activities like People’s Kitchen, People’s Crafts, People’s Snooker and Bowling, Volunteering and Social night’s out. We empower People to have a Voice and offer training, offer a menu of 'Things to Do in the Daytime' for those people who hold a personal budget.   • Groups RoSPA Advanced Drivers and Riders - Manchester Group

    The aim of Manchester Group of RoADAR, run by trained volunteers, is to increase road safety by teaching advanced driving and riding techniques, focusing on safety, observation and anticipation. Members benefit from lower insurance premiums, improved fuel consumption and less wear and tear to their vehicle. It is statistically proven that Advanced Drivers and Riders are less likely to be involved in a collision. , , , ,
