  • Groups The Grace Darling Singers

The Grace Darling Singers are a mixed choir which specialises in West Gallery Music/18th Century Psalmody, the sacred music heard in English churches and chapels from about 1700 to 1850. Much of that music has lain neglected and unsung for generations, but our Musical Director, Sally Drage, is an academic specialist in the field, whose researches constantly expand our repertoire. Some of our music is by composers quite local to our areal but we also sing American Shape Note and Sacred Music which stem from the same English tradition. Sings mostly for own pleasure but give occasional concerts and have recorded several times for the BBC.
