  • Groups Neonatal Knitters

Neonatal Knitters is a community led group who knit and crochet beanie hats, blankets and cardigans for the neonatal unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital, Manchester, and the premature ward of Tameside Hospital, Ashton Under-Lyne. ,We have knitting and crochet patterns, along with wool if you require any. ,This is an extremely worthwhile and rewarding way to help the babies and parents. Some of these babies do not make it home, and the parents are able to keep the items of clothing that their baby has worn. ,We all knit and crochet from home and keep in touch via the Facebook page, though now we have started a group on Wednesdays 10.30am-1.30pm at Holy Trinity Community Centre, Dean Street, Ashton-under-Lyne where we can sit as a group and knit/crochet/chat. ,

Noah’s A.R.T. is a progressive, innovative and therapeutic service developed by an experienced mental health nurse. Our service is aimed at vulnerable individuals living in the community or in social care settings who enjoy the company of animals but may be unable to keep their own pets. We have a selection of therapy animals; dogs, cats, rats, rabbits and guinea pigs. Most of our rabbits and guinea pigs have been rescued. If you are feeling disconnected or discouraged Noah’s A.R.T. can help you. When you care for a rescued animal, they in turn, rescue you. Nurturing these animals in a safe, supportive environment gives you a safe space to connect again with nature and reflect on difficult issues.
