    Please Note

    We train volunteers to offer support to a family in need, with at least 1 child under age 5. Volunteers visit the family for 2 hours a week, supported by a co-ordinator within the organization, and can access ongoing training. All volunteers are parents themselves.

  • Groups Home-Start Tameside and Oldham

    Provide support and friendship to families in their own homes. Families must have at least one child under 5 and are supported by volunteers who are parents themselves. We also have a Breastfeeding Peer Support group. ,

  • Groups Hope for Paediatric Epilepsy

    Parent support group. Parents can share information and discuss living with a child with epilepsy. We sometimes have speakers in who come to talk about a variety of topics such as Medication. The Epilepsy nurse from Tameside hospital attends the sessions. Please contact for further information.

  • Groups Hope Youth Theatre Acting Classes (Ages 5-16)

    Drama classes for children of all abilities. Lead by industry professionals and designed to develop young people's knowledge and enjoyment of stage and screen acting and production skills. HYT helps young people build self esteem, gain confidence, make new friends and inspire creativity.

  • Groups Huddersfield Canal Society Ltd

    Ensure the viability and promotion of the Huddersfield Broad and Narrow Canals as navigable waterways within the overall network in perpetuity. The Society also operates public trip boats at Portland Basin Museum, Ashton-under-Lyne and Standedge Visitor Centre, Marsden.

    Circle of Friends CoF is a group of older people but there are no age barriers. The aim is to be active and have fun and to make a change of not being alone.

    The aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
