    The club is welcoming and friendly with no more than 10 members and weekly sessions last about 90 minutes. Book Time for Yourself Clubs are run by library staff and volunteers who take turns in reading aloud to the group. Tameside Libraries are looking for volunteers to support Book Time for Yourself Clubs, see website for more details.

  • Groups Hattersley Readers Group

    An informal group for anyone who enjoys reading. They choose a book or an author to read each month and chat about the monthly choice and all sorts of other books over a cup of tea.

  • Groups Haughton Green Community Forum

    Aims to improve the conditions of life for inhabitants of the area and to manage the community centre. The Centre is also running armchair aerobics, coffee mornings, bingo, art classes and young mothers coffee mornings. Also hosts weight managment sessions, baby clinic, Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) sessions (Mon & Wed am), Mediation and Meditation Services. Childrens servies and food bank referrals.Any other ideas which anyone would like to contribute are welcome.

    £3.50 per dog per session £25 Annual Insurance fee

    Please Note

    There is a requirement that all dogs are fully vaccinated and owners must be able to produce a valid vaccination certificate upon request. Puppies should have had their first vaccinations and have been kept indoors for the veterinary recommended period prior to attending the club. Dog handlers should be aged 12 years or above although younger children are welcome to watch and learn ready to take on dog handling at an older age.

  • Groups Health Service - Community Continence Service

    A potential user can access the service either by phoning, writing, e-mailing or faxing the department. The service consists of a team of nurses who specialise in bladder and bowel problems. Users can be anyone aged over 4 years old.

  • Groups Health Service - Community Dental Service Special Care Team

    Provides dental care for people with special care needs - including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, medical conditions and mental health problems. Services include treatment with sedation and treatment at home for housebound people. People can contact the service directly if they have a special care need and have been unable to access a family dental practice. Phone Hyde Clinic 0161 366 2263 for home visits.

  • Groups Health Service - Tameside Wheelchair Service

    The service is for residents who have a GP who's main surgery is in Oldham, Tameside and Glossop areas and who require a wheelchair (for both indoor and outdoor use - not social use only) on permanent loan. Assessments are offered to individuals who have a mobility problem after which wheelchairs may be offered on a long term loan. Referrals are to be made by GP's or medical professionals. The service also has a patient led wheelchair user group which involves regular meeting with representatives from the Wheelchair Service and assisting in the development of the service provided.

    Healthwatch Tameside is the independent consumer champion for health and social care in Tameside. ,We listen to local people, and gather information about their experiences of using health and social care services. ,We use this information to talk to the people who arrange (commission) the services and the people who provide the services. We can influence changes which will make these services better for everyone. If we hear about good practice, we encourage this to be shared. If you tell us about something that could be improved, we will talk to the people in charge about this too. ,Any information we are given will remain anonymous. We are careful to share ideas in a way which will not identify any individuals.
