Denton Library Book Time for Yourself Club
A Book Time for Yourself Club is a new type of book group for people aged over 55 run by Tameside Libraries with support from Tameside Older People's Partnership. Club members sit back and relax for an hour while books, short stories and poems are read to you then talk about what you have just listened to over tea & biscuits. There is no pressure, members can say as much or as little as they like and no literary knowledge or reading in advance is required. The club is welcoming and friendly with no more than 10 members and weekly sessions last about 90 minutes. Book Time for Yourself Clubs are run by library staff and volunteers who take turns in reading aloud to the group. Tameside Libraries are looking for volunteers to support Book Time for Yourself Clubs, see website for more details.
